Built in the 19th century, the Elblag-Ostroda Canal is a historic monument of hydro engineering and one of the most interesting navigation routes in Europe. The canal deals with the 99.5 m difference in water levels by means of a system of slipways, locks, dams and safety gates.
We recommend to join the ship cruise between the landing stages in Buczyniec and Jelenie. During the 2,5 h adventurous trip the ship is carried on the railway across dry land and passes several locks. The ship’s upper deck gives you a great opportunity to observe the natural assets surrounding the Canal, while the well supplied cafeteria on the lower deck offers shelter from the sun.
