The town of Karpacz, situated at the foot of Sniezka Mountain in Karkonosze region, is a mountain resort well known for winter sports and summer mountain hiking possibilities. Great weather and terrain conditions – snow layer in Karpacz lingers for 95 days in a year – are the reason why Karpacz is a sports centre, a climatic station and a starting point of many tourist trails.
The town offers many interesting places to visit, such as the Sport And Tourism Musuem, the Baroque St. Ann Church or the Municipal Toys Museum. The highlight however is the Wang Church, originally built in the Norwegian town Vang in 12th century. The wooden stave church was moved and reconstructed here in 19th century, becoming probably the world’s most visited stave church.
